In 1993, Armas Järnefelt's son, Arvid Järnefelt, donated 15 kgs (33 lbs) of music manuscripts to the University of Helsinki Library (today known as the National Library of Finland). This was the impulse for establishing a working group to plan for the preservation of Armas Järnefelt's legacy. Eventually, in the year 2002, the working group became the Armas Järnefelt’s Society. The society’s homepage provides information about its activities, publications, and the events it organises.
